The concept
The Alys Mo workshop, nestled in Prangins in the canton of Vaud, was created to offer you original and unique jewelry designed using two main techniques: filigree and wax. Each piece is perfectly imperfect, as it is entirely handcrafted, from the initial sketch to its final presentation.
Inspired by my years at sea, these jewels reflect that multi-year expedition, during which my childlike eyes discovered the world and this unique environment. I invite you on a journey of discovery through the pieces I present and wish you wonderful discoveries.
The watermark, or the art of playing with thread
This ancient art involves twisting silver wire around itself and then rolling (flattening) it. The fun part then comes in shaping it into all sorts of forms. These shapes then fill frames and give rise to magnificent pictures.
The wax
Wax offers a multitude of possibilities. Combined with filigree, it results in truly original jewelry. Sculpted and engraved, I work it by hand to give it the desired shape. After the metal is cast, the finishing touches are applied, resulting in a unique piece.
Raw materials
I work with 925 and 999 silver (pure), as well as 18-carat gold: precious metals that I choose for their durability and nobility.
I sometimes like to combine silver and gold, and add carefully selected stones, to create truly unique pieces of jewelry.
Each piece is hallmarked with my maker's mark as well as the standard hallmarks, guaranteeing its authenticity, traceability, and enduring value. I use only solid precious metals, never plating, so that your jewelry will last a lifetime, and perhaps even beyond, passed down to the next generation.
